Excellent article. Basically, illumination on the question of whether the football recruiting pool(s) are moving in the nation. Forty years ago, there was a large recruiting pool in western Pennsylvania. Now, not so much. Probably due to the fact that Pittsburgh metro severely declined in population. Presently, the state of Oklahoma is increasing in population and prosperity. Which will eventually mean a larger pool of players and the financial means at the lower levels to increase sophistication of prep programs. OU is extremely pro-active and it will, in the future, reap benefits. By contrast, using the same variables above, prep football in Texas, south Florida and southern California will most likely maintain a dominant position, but will be in a downhill cycle, due to changes in demographics and financial support to programs.

The state of Okla has around 40 D-1 prospects every year. Sure, as a whole, maybe only 3 to 4 players in state, in any one year are 4 star or better. 2014 supposed to be a bumper crop for stud recruits in Oklahoma.

Football is king in Oklahoma. I’d imagine a 2 star or 3 star “Okie” has better potential than several other states with 2/3 star recruits.

Bill Blankenship knows there’s alot of talent
in this state that goes unnoticed nationally.
Also remember, BB has shut out the Kansas’s, I-st’s, Mizzu’s, & other outside schools from cherry picking Tulsa area recruits.

With nearly 50 players that reside from the state of Oklahoma, TU is truly Oklahoma's team.
