Forget it people. FSU and Clemson aren't going to join the unstable Big XII. Neither will any school worth having. Ask yourself why did the Big XII make schools sign over their TV rights? Why does the ACC have such a large buyout? And then ask yourself why the SEC has no buyout at all? Schools in the Big XII and ACC are looking for someplace else to go....schools in the SEC are already at the best place and would never think of leaving. That shows the strength of each conference.

When Notre Dame signed the deal with the ACC instead of the Big XII that signaled where people thought conference stability lay. It isn't with the Big XII. The Big XII is just about done as one of the major conferences. You can tell even the ADs and the commissioner can sense that. That is why they are scrambling to get some kind of partnership deal with a stable conference, either the SEC or ACC. Also, the Big XII cannot add a team that doesn't come with at least $26M per year of TV revenue. Sooner or later UT will realize they have the only TV market in the Big XII and will go independent and sign a deal with the ACC like Notre Dame. Guess where that leaves OU and OSU? What is left of the Big XII would have to merge with the Mountain West and slide even further.

Oh, and don't forget the Maryland deal will be drug out so ACC schools can't leave, but if FSU does it anyway or Big Ten convinces someone to join Maryland, the mass exodus will happen and the ACC will have the 8 votes they need to negate exit fees.

Come on Berry, are you seriously still slinging OU's agenda of Louisville's addition?

Honestly, if FSU broke away (or any of the money makers to BIG or SEC) the whole ACC would be done and up for grabs.

SEC and BIG can only take two each. It's tough to say who will take who. We know BIG is only interested in schools that already in their "prestigious" academic club. SEC will not go after schools in states they are already in.

It is highly likely the Big XII pulls FSU, Clemson, NC State, Georgia Tech, and/or Virgia Tech with Miami getting a late invite too (all of these schools are better than Louisville, Cincy, or anyone else that is possibly available). Keep in mind we will go to 16 because schools will be clamoring to get in and find a place with the fall of the major money in the ACC.

The new divisions will easily lend to East/West divisions with ISU, WVU joining the new ACC additions in the East and forming a perfect setup for a conference not to mention a chance to negotiate for more money than any other conference along with still owning your tier 3 rights to do with as you pleas... problem solved!

PS- Wild card would be ND not having a place for other sports due to ACC fall, and they will be forced to fully join with football with Big Ten or Big XII, and they will get first priority over anyone due to the money they bring.

If Maryland wins its case against the ACC...The Big XII is just as likely to collapse as the ACC. It will immediately void the grant of rights the Big XII currently has to protect its membership since that deal is much more punitive than the agreement the ACC had among its members. Thus, both conferences would be open for movement. So now make up new conference memberships for the Pac 12 moving to 16 with Texas, Oklahoma, and two latch ons. In reality there is no way the Big XII raids the ACC for teams without the BigI making further inroads which doubtfully even the BigI can perform. The ACC is much more solid than the article insinuates they only truly had one team that the Big I could raid and they pulled that off even with the fans being opposed.
