Berry starts out by saying, “I have no idea…” Very typical for him. But instead of trying to FIND OUT what happened, he writes a speculative what if story. Shoddy journalism, especially as it turns out the story is NOT true.

“Since Stoops arrived in Norman, defense has always been the bread & butter”. According to team stats., since Mike left the first time, that statement isn’t quite accurate. In fact, in OU’s last faux run at the NC in ’08, their defense was rated #52 in the nation & it’s gotten worse every year after that. Offense has been Bob’s forte. Out scoring power, not stopping power.

Since Stoops’ arrival in Norman, defense had always been the bread and butter. This is the only year the I witnessed so many blown coverages, and if it wasn’t for Jefferson’s instinct and quickness, we would have lost the nail-biters that went our way. He is the only draft worthy player on that defense, possibly late 2nd or 3rd round.
