You also seemed to overlooked the strumming by Texas in 2005. It’s not really a comeback when the other team decides to stop beating you in the fourth quarter and puts out their second and third string. Or are we going to argue that Brown won the fourth the past few years? Just say.

Seems like you missed the Oklahoma State game in 2011. Pretty sure OU trailed at the half and did not get any better in the second half. OSU also led and won in 2002, although OU closed the gap in the second half. Seems like a writer from Oklahoma wouldn’t even have to look those up. Makes me wonder what else was left out.

Berry’s account of the 2011 Tech game is an exercise in revisionist history. Anybody who watched that game would not characterize it as OU winning the second half. After Tech closed the 2nd quarter with a flourish, scoring 17 unanswered points to finish the half, it was imperative that OU stop them at the beginning of the 3rd quarter. Instead, after having the entire halftime to make adjustments, OU lets Tech march down the field and score a touchdown on the opening drive of the 2nd half. That TD doomed the Sooners and only a frantic comeback in the closing minutes of the game made the score closer.

Berry, you need retract your position before people start accusing you of playing PR rep for Stoops. Oh wait, some people are already saying that.

Looks like in most of the games that OU lost, it was because of the failure of effective offensive adjustments. It appears that not many of the losses were squarely on the defense. In some of those recent games that were shootouts,the OU offense bailed out the defense. More often it seems the losses were due to lack of offensive production…the offense could not score 28 points. Someone want to do the math?

2009… Leading BYU, Miami, and Texas at half before losing. 2008… Leading Texas 21-20. 2007… Leading Colorado 17-7. Tied with aTm in 2002 before losing. 2001… ugh… Leading OSU 10-6 at half. 1999… Leading Notre Dame, Colorado, Tech, and Ole Miss at half…. It’s debatable

Wouldn’t this be more informative if Trammel had taken all of BGB’s losses, then also given the results when they were ahead at halftime? Of course Stoops doesn’t always win when behind at half. Seems like it would be the same amount of legwork.
