I always wonder how much of these discussions are either wishful thinking of fans, anti-fans, sports media personnel who have either lost their objectivity or are unabashedly stirring the pot to bolster readership. Especially when “heard it from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend
……………of a well placed source, etc,etc.

We weathered the storm and all is well at OSU. This thing has been ironed out and I look forward to next year, with a great recruiting class coming in, in a addition to almost everyone coming back. Thanks to Coach Gundy for turning down the Arkansas and Tennesse jobs. The future looks very good at OSU! Go Pokes!

Regarding Mack Brown comment, here in the DFW area among pundits and a BUNCH of colleagues who are alums Gundy to Austin post-Mack was the immediate association after it was confirmed he spoke to Arkansas & Tennessee. Don’t like the way either side is playing this, but agree with comment that beyond an alum, O-State job repeatedly gets the Les Miles treatment.

i have different questions. i always see Gundy “no comment” and “no talk about other jobs.”

i saw a “Gundy did not even tell his bosses about talking to Arkansas.”

is it Gundy or Holder leaking info? and why?

Actually the fans do have a water hose – the problem is the have too many all pointed different directions – without fans it’s just kids playing in the backyard. Sponsors don’t sponsor without the perception of a return on their investment.

When you talk about playing lesser teams do not compare OU and OSU. OU will never fall in the polls as far as OSU will after a loss because of name recognition. How many years have OU been in the top 10 pre season and not finish there. The reason Alabama is in the BCS Championship game this year is when they lost they didn’t fall as far as the non name teams would have allowing them a chance to slip back in with other teams having the misfortune to lose big games late in the season. Until OSU wins a National Championship they will never be treated the same as the traditional name recognized teams. Coaches don’t watch the games so how do you think they pick in their poll.

I would agree with Galileo that TN and Arkansas are ot “lesser jobs”. But they are not huge upgrades either. Lateral, to slight upgrade, but with far more downside.

I laughed almost as loudly when I read Joel’s comment that Tennessee and Arkansas are “lesser” jobs than Okie Lite. Seriously?
