We would have never had this problem if back in the 50`s a coach was given a cadilac and the other one a gold watch the gold watch went to a guy by the name of “bear’ bryant.

If we being Uk ever get a quality staff of good offensive coaching with defensive coaching together at the same time we should do more than well. we have tried offensive minded coaches before. End result we get outscored give us balance and we will do good. I think Barnhart is thinking of the defense this time around.

Not a killer schedule? I wonder how many games usc would win out of florida, georgia ,south carolina and a good west team. They would have 4 loses.

Was there any research for this article? “Kentucky rarely plays a killer schedule” Huh? What? We often have top 5-10 strength of schedule, yearly.

I’m a UK fan, and yes, we do care about football. That’s why Joker was let go. Stoops is going into a tough, tough job, but not an impossible one. In the last 6 years, the Cats have beaten top #25 teams of South Carolina, Georgia, Auburn and Louisville,. They also defeated a #1 LSU. Yes, we are basketball crazy but want to see football be competitive and one day challenge for the SEC East. Good luck to Coach Stoops.

Nathan. People in Oklahoma don’t care a @!#$ about Kentucky or who coaches there. It is only interesting because of the name Stoops. It is a loser program and dead end job. Anyone who is any good would run from it. If Mark Stoops wins 7 games a year for 3 years in a row he will be gone to a program where he can win 10 games a year. If he doesn’t win 7 games a year for 3 years in a row he will be fired. Kentucky may as well start their coaching search now for their next coach.

Nathan, calm down. Aside from the Georgia, Florida and currently South Carolina games, the remaining nine on Kentucky’s usual schedule are winnable or are you conceding that Kentucky can’t compete with Vandy, Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi State, Louisville and South Carolina sans Spurrier? Get the program turned around and there is no reason why they can’t consistently win 6 or 7 games a year. It doesn’t win championships but it’s certainly better than losing by 20 points in 66% of your games. That was the entire point of the blog. Before Briles took the job at Baylor everyone thought the same thing in Waco.

Kentucky doesn’t play a killer schedule? Excuse me but I’m pretty sure over half of the schedule had been in the top 25, maybe even the top 10 at one point. Any season in the SEC is a killer season not to even mention the fact that TWO SEC teams were almost to be represented at the National Championship. Mark Stoops job is going to be an extremely tough job as the fan base is extremely pro basketball and expect the other programs to preform as well as the coveted basketball program. This saddens me as I had seen many winnable games people simply didn’t go to because “the weather wasn’t right”. These people aren’t fans, they are rich pompous jerks who attend only to get drunk at a high end tailgate. None of this is even helped by the AD as the ticket prices keep soaring as to pay for all of the other sports programs, keeping real blue bleeders out of the stands. Furthermore, it also adds to injury when the school refuses to spend any money on the program. As a conclusion to my ramble I would like to pose the question as to why Oklahoma cares about the coach of UK.

I wish him well, but does Kentucky give him a chance to succeed? Probably not. If he can go 6-6 most years and make a bowl he will be doing great. I don’t think the fans and administration will settle for that. Every school thinks they should be winning championships. At Kentucky that will only be in basketball. It looks like he grabbed the first offer that came by. I guess if flops he can be co-defensive coordinator at OU. That seems to be the job for failed head coaches named Stoops.
