I think a bigger impact than special teams might have been OU’s two free agents. What would this game and the season have looked like without Jalen Saunders and Justin Brown. Could Stills and Sheppaed have carried the load? You cannot deny they had a huge impact on Beldam this year.

Barry is right on, the Cowboys offense scored more on OU’s defense than vise versa, take away OU’s punt return and what is the score? Cowboys offense outscored OU’s offense 48-45, doesn’t matter how well Landry Jones played(which he did great I might add) The reality of the matter is neither defense should be bragging at all!

No matter who the DC was going to be at WVU this year, that defense was going to struggle… It kills me how my fellow WVU fans can’t see that no coach could turn this unit into a Top 50 defense facing B12 offenses… No pass rush, and every player in the secondary being at least two steps slower than the opposing receivers adds up to what we have seen….

Deforest may not be a good coach, but you just can’t make that call just by watching this year..

So many WVU fans just want to blindly blame coaches when something goes wrong…. A fickle bunch

In 121 years of playing Football, he has successfully set eery record for futility.

Earth to Tramel – how about doing a litte research and find out where those OSU td drives started – rather than make oneself look ignorant.

Secondly you must have been getting a hot dog during the last 10 + minutes when that OSU defense gave up 17 points – during which the OU defense gave up 3 . Pity , pity if that is the best you can come up with.

No more excuses for the Pokes.Here’s the stat that sealed the fate of the Cowboys: Landry Jones throws the football 73 times and only gets sacked ONE time. Three OU receivers have over 100 yards. At the start of the season, everyone lamented that the O-line and lack of receivers would “do the Sooners in”. Well, surprise! It’s what beat the Pokes. Joe Defoe has about as much to do with the outcome of this game as my Ouija board.

You’re grasping for straws, Berry. Kick and punt team coverage has been pathetic at OSU for quite some time. Take it from a fan that’s been at every home game and some road games. It was a problem with DeFo and it remains a problem without him.
