The Cotton Bowl-Big XII number two doesn't mean the team with the second best record in the conference must be selected by the Cotton Bowl. It means the Cotton Bowl is the bowl with the second pick of conference teams behind the Fiesta Bowl, unless a Big XII team is picked as an at large team in a BCS Bowl. The same is true for all the Big XII tie in bowls. They can pick ANY Big XII bowl eligible team remaining when it is their turn to pick. If one is not available they can pick any remaining team not affilitated with a bowl. That is the case if not enough conference teams are bowl eligible. That is not the case this year. My guess is if Texas and Texas A&M are available when the Cotton Bowl selects they will be teams that go. Just such a natural fit for the Cotton Bowl. My guess is Kent State will qualify...thank you very much Big East for being so very bad. We can only hope UCLA upsets Stanford in which case Kent State will not rise above UCLA-Stanford loser. It will serve Kent State for making a BCS Bowl. They stand to LOSE several million dollars. They MUST purchase their allotment of tickets...no way can they sell them all. Look at what happened to UCONN when they went to the Fiesta Bowl. They lost about $2M. Making a BCS Bowl could bankrupt the Kent State athletic program for years. If Kent State makes it OU will drop to the Alamo Bowl unless they beat TCU and Texas beats KState. In that case KState would have dropped from the BCS Championship game to the Alamo Bowl in their last two games of the season.

You have WVU and TCU in better bowls than TTU even though TTU has the head to head win and a better or identical record. Does not compute, what's up?
