Berry, nobody wants to fly United, but since they bought Continental, we are forced to (Continental/United hub in Houston ensures a direct flight anywhere). Nobody in Houston likes United and we all miss the good customer service that our hometown Continental had. United is a very noticeable dropoff. At least we still have Southwest.

And about Morgantown hospitality: nice to see the traveling Sooner fans were treated kindly. I assume the visiting fans didn't suffer any crushed eye sockets. Google it.

WVU fan here and thanks Mr. Tramel for your nice reporting on your trip to West Virginia. I hope you felt the passion Mountaineers fans feel for their teams and yes, Morgantown is a great appalachian college mountain town. Good to hear as well that the WV fans were friendly and welcoming and while I've always felt that was the case, I'm glad it's making the PR airwaves from all our Big 12 partners. I'm sorry that the Mountaineers fell short as it would have been a treat for you to hear COUNTRY ROADS at the end of the game but I guess that'll happen next time you come visit our great little mountain town.

Great article. With all the negative talk about WV it is nice to see someone actually got to come here and experience it for themselves! You should pay a visit to Huntington sometime and visit Marshall. Beautiful campus and a nice town.

Great trip report, Berry! I spent the night at Wheeling, and did some flight planning at Charleston, while ferrying an AH-64 Apache from Mesa, AZ, to Dover AFB, DE. Met nice people at both places, but didn't get to see much of the local scenery.
