FSU is waiting to see if UM has to pay the $52 million exit fee... if they settle for in the neighborhood of $15-$25 million... then the floodgates open.

FSU, Clemson, Miami (don't like but they're coming) join B12.
UVa, UNC join Big1G

SEC get's VT, NCST (new markets for the pending SEC Network)
B12 rounds out with GT, Louisville (yes, they'll come) and Pitt (WVU rival). Of course drop Pitt if ND takes a sniff.

Big 8 Division: OSU, ou, KU, KSU, ISU, UT, TT, Baylor
Atlantic Division: WVU, UL, FSU, CU, UM, GT, TCU (new comers were going BEast anyway).

I'd just set up a 2-game football scheduling alliance with BYU. Something like BYU gets 2 Big XII opponents every year. 1 Home and 1 Away.

Everything else reeks of fast food.

If I had any say in the Big 12 I would target Louisville, Cincy, FSU, Clemson, VATech, and Miami. You could then divide the conference by simply adding WVU and ISU to the east and TU, TTU, TCU. OU, OSU BU, KSU, and KU to the west. This would be the second best conference in football and competing only with the SEC and competing for the best in basketball. If the B12 waits to long they will be left in the cold. The SEC will consume all valuable teams in the ACC and the PAC 12 and Big 14 will start picking apart the B12 regardless of contracts. The Big 12 has a huge opportunity ahead of them right now to make a big splash and control the market in nine states. The match ups this would create are awesome!!!!! However I fear they will remain silent and end up lost, they need a conference championship game whether they believe it or not!!!!

Pablo, Pablo, Pablo... NORTHERN ILLINOIS??? Add hem and you can forget about FSU joining. Clemson is a big time program that fills up their 84k stadium every ome game. The jewels in the ACC crown (in descending order) are FSU, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Miami, and then flip a coin between UNC, NC State, and UVA. Nobody cares about Duke or Wake (not even in NC) and Maryland was a league doormat for most of the past 20+ years (although Fatty McFootball nmade them competitive a few years but he's gone). If the ACC had gotten ND as a full member they would have been fine, but the powers that be (Swofford & the school presidents) are bush league thinkers who think hoops drives the bus.

When the Big 12 was being raided last year the ACC looked solid by comparison. Don Bebee was getting flame sprayed, but he looks like Einstein compared to Swofford, who is just an idiot, and a crooked one at that (note the deal he negotiated still left money on the table for regional sports network Raycom, where his on works...).

While I'd love to see FSU & Clemson in the SEC East where they belong, they could form the core of a strong Big 12 East (along w/ WV, VT, GT, maybe L'ville). Bottom line is Swofford is a boy amongst men, and FSU alumni and fans don't want to get screwed financially while our non-ACC rivals cash in.

Louisville is a horrible choice for the Big 12. You get all you can get with Louisville from day 1. There is no regional expansion and the market is locked. Can not add TV sets over time like you can with other schools. SO Louisville is a terrible choice. Which is why none of the Big time conferences want them. All Louisville will do is bleed money from the other schools over time. It is better to take a known power program that has a name like Florida State and then match them with a school from a decent TV market that can grow. Northern Illinois and Cincinnati fit the bill. NIU would add the Chicago Market which is a top 5 US market. NIU would add butts in seats and increased TV sets over time. Same is true with Cincinnati. Clemson is not really a viable option but the they can dream I guess.

Not sure what bowl snub Glenn is referencing. Missouri has beaten Texas twice since 1916 -- 1997 and 2010 (the latter of which occurred after Missouri decided to leave the Big 12). Maybe it was a year they didn't play head-to-head?

If the ACC was smart, they would take all three of them now (UConn, Louisville and Cincinnati) and go to a 16 team 2 POD system with ND added in for SOS. Split the conference into North and South divisions... (and make sure Miami is in the South division this time... it never made any sense grouping them with the northern schools).

And then immediately start their own TV network.
