As bumpy twisting and treacherous as that road to the Fiesta Bowl is for OSU I would hate to try and drive it. I don't see any way for OSU to make it there. If it came down to OSU as the best Big XII replacement for KState the Fiesta Bowl will look someplace else. They would either look to the PAC XII if the Rose Bowl were to pick Notre Dame to replace Oregon or to the SEC one loss team (Florida maybe if they can get by FSU) or a number of two loss teams.

If KState is still number 1 in the BCS at the end of the season and Notre Dame is not number 2 then the Fiesta Bowl will replace KState with Notre Dame. If that happens then it would probably be Texas even if they lose to KState over OSU even if OSU beat OU. If OU were to win out they would not be picked by the Fiesta Bowl because the Fiesta Bowl would not want a rematch from the regular season. If that were to happen it is possible a 2 loss OU drops to the Cotton Bowl and then every one else moves down one bowl. Like Ed Lova said it is all about the money. I also think the Fiesta Bowl might not pick a Big XII team if they don't have to. Why help the conference that just kicked you in the teeth when they signed with the SEC and the Sugar Bowl? They might take Clemson or if they get a shot at them a one loss Florida. My guess is it will probably be KState. It is hard to win out and they probably beat Baylor this week and they could very well lose to an improved Texas. They would be Big XII Champions but not be in the BCS Championship Game. So for them it would be the Fiesta Bowl.

The bottom line for the Fiesta is dollar signs, they dont usually care about politics as much as getting the best matchups. OU or Texas will fly off quickly if they are available.

Serious question. Do you think the Fiesta Bowl will take a Big XII team if KSU makes the National Title Game? Seems like the Big XII kinda turned their back on the Fiesta Bowl by going with the SEC to the Sugar Bowl. Politics has a way of showing up during bowl season (last seasons Virginia Tech in the Sugar. Two years ago Nebraska in the Holiday).
