I agree with Jed. Insane to think Mississippi State goes to the Cotton Bowl. Six SEC teams ranked above Mississippi State and only two can go to a BCS bowl. If Texas goes to the Cotton Bowl then it will be Texas A&M. It might be anyway but NO WAY does Mississippi State go above the teams not in a BCS bowl. The Fiesta may not even take OU. Remember the Fiesta is REQUIRED to take the Big XII Champion but not another Big XII team to replace them if the Big XII Champion goes to the BCS Championship Game. Also, remember the Big XII just jilted the Fiesta Bowl to elope with the SEC to the Sugar Bowl in a couple of years. This could be a year where the Fiesta Bowl gets a little revenge by not taking a Big XII team. Also, the Sugar Bowl may take TWO SEC teams if they have the chance. They could take Alabama and Florida or Alabama and South Carolina. The biggest game remaining in the Big XII is KState-Texas.

OU has 3 tough games. WVU will be a test..Smith is a better passer…doesn’t run as often…ND, BU,KSU, and UTEP have exposed our vulnerabilities when QBs can run and throw the ball. Our defense rides on our offense. It is about ball control…run the clock..but you must score TDs when you have a possession. That means we have to run the ball. But we also have to throw deep, even if they are incompletions…keep the D honest. We cannot throw into the teeth of a defense lined up to stop the run or to keep things in front of them. That is when LJ does crazy stuff…like fumbles and INTs. WVU will be dicey …like BU…I think TCU will test us on the ground, but OU should prevail… OSU?? Flip a coin.

Texas A&M isn’t going to a BCS Bowl, Bama and LSU will go to the BCS Bowls from the SEC. A&M is headed to the Cotton Bowl to play Texas, the Cotton Bowl’s dream!

So does that mean the Big 12 will have 3 6-6 teams…WVU, TCU, ISU? Texas still won’t get to a 10 win season…looks like 9 win season for UT and TT.

If Sooners don’t play any better than they did vs. Baylor, they won’t win out. I say they could lose all three. Unlikely but possible.
