To Bob S question… Boykin was in FACT practicing at RB not WR the week of the ISU game. TCU was down to their 4th RB having lost the top three, two for the year and the third for ISU. TCU still had/has Matt Brown, who was #2 behind Pachall last year.

Boykin spent the Iowa State week practicing at running back, not wide receiver. TCU has been hit hard there with the loss of James, Wesley leaving early and the injury to Tucker.

Paul makes a great point. We really have no idea if Lunt is ready to play at the level needed to win if he is still hobbled. Chelf has been around and knows the offense. If Chelf is the starter we should still be ok and win this game…one game at a time.

I don’t understand the comments about Boykin practicing as a WR…then WHO was backing up Pachall..?? You mean to say there was no one focused on the backup qb job? I frankly can’t believe that! It’s nonsense. Boykin was no doubt the backup qb was at TCU, just as Walsh was at OSU.

Don’t be so sure Lunt will play. Google “dislocated kneecap” and then make up your mind. He might play but I don’t think they really want to rush it. Chelf might have a “Weeden breakout moment.” He never got to really run the offense because he always played when the game was out of reach and they mostly ran the ball.

RW did a Great job at QB and had an unbelievably gutsy day against ISU! It will go down in OSU history as the greatest performance of an injured player that willed his team to victory, and it was a big win since it keeps our goal attainable of repeating as Big 12 champions. Unfortunately, he is out for the season and now it is up to Wes Lunt to pick up where JW left off and keep the offense rolling. Now the TCU game is the game we must win. Our defense is getting better and Randle has been great so there is no reason to panic. I think we will take care of business and beat TCU! One game at a time…Go Pokes!

Any mention as to whether Walsh or Horton can get a medical. I thought the backup receivers, especially Charlie Moore and Austin Hays did well. Stewart was his normal great. Still it would be great to get some Isiah Anderson and the rest of our injured receivers back along with Smith up and running to give Randle a rest. Another tough game..this Saturday…they will not get any easire either.

QB is the least of our (TCU) concerns. Injuries and graduations have us starting freshman at various positions on both sides of the ball. Unbelievable but telling statistic: we have started more true freshman (15) than scholarship seniors (11). Makes for a rough 2012 but an optimistic future.
