To beat Texas OU needs to look at what OSU and WVA did. That was run the ball. Both teams are pass first offenses but it was the run that worked best. If OU can run the ball they can win...if they can't run the ball they lose. They also have to do a better job either protecting the QB or shorten the pass routes to get the ball out of Landry Jones' hand quicker. WVA let the Texas defense get to the QB to often and too quick. On defense OU needs to change the defense to a stop the run first defense. That is different than what they play against most teams. It might be better to change to a straight 4-3 with 4 defensive backs from the 4-2 with 5 defensive backs they have been playing. It also wouldn't hurt to line up in the 5-2 or 3-4 defense from time to time to throw Texas off. The main thing will be to not make mistakes. They can beat Texas but they can't beat Texas and themselves. No turnovers, and no costly penalties. At least OU is coming off a win and Texas is coming off a hard loss.

Either Walsh needs to be a Heisman contender or the UT D is getting better at the spread. LJ can't run...Walsh and Smith can. Makes it easier to defend OU's offense. The UT D has had several sacks and pressure the QB....not good news for a thin O-Line and a QB that doesn't deal well with pressure consistently. Texas has speed on defense....makes it hard to go wide...and they have a big front line and all world defensive ends. OU has to pound the ball up the middle...gotta get more than 1-2 yards and avoid 3rd and long. In the world of ifs....if OU would not have fumbled and LJ had not been picked against KSU, OU gets 17 more points on a good defense...36 points instead of 19. UT has better athletes, faster, bigger...are they more physical? They should be its OU-Texas! I think it will be hard for OU's offense to score 23 points.

OU's D...shows it has more depth at some positions than we thought. Every play matters on D Saturday. The key to the game is to stop UT's run game and pressure Ash. If the defense can do that, I think the OU defense can hold Texas to 17 points.

It's about turnovers, penalties, and the kicking game.....unless each team has been holding something back for an October Surprise. Close game...somewhere in the range of 23-17. And Our D gets us 10 of those 23 points!

So, Berry does it mean UT is harder to beat than WVU in Morgantown? HECK NO! But UT is better than most think....better be ready...
