Tramel. I’ve lived in Norman and OKC and there isnt much to do there either… No culture, just tornados, meth heads, red necks and poor tex mex.

From El Paso, glad you enjoyed the trip more this time. Yeah, seeing Juarez can be trippy if you’re new. I asked the same question as Nancy Sue when I first came to town.

Should there be a next time, take your gang up the old highway into Las Cruces through the pecan orchards. Gorgeous.

Gotta try Tarahumara next time I’m in Norman, but if you’re saying Leo’s is better than Carlos and Mickeys, I’m officially questioning your taste buds. You are right about the crowds, though. You do have to visit C&M in off-hours. It’s the fishbowl-sized margaritas.

In answer to your rhetorical question, there can be no way OKC has better Mexican food than ELP without there being a rift in the space-time continuum.

“El Paso” may not be the best ballad ever written, but it ranks near the top. Right up there with “Barbara Allen,” which goes back hundreds of years in various versions and languages.

Ok, nice article BUT Juarez is no longer the murder capitol of the world. In fact, I don’t think it ever was “of the world” but definitely Mexico and Latin America. The murder rate in Juarez is down around 60% over last year. How hard would it have been to spend 5 minutes and get updated on Juarez??
