Disagree. Has it ever occured to you that maybe Justin doesn’t want his story told? Besides the huge adjustment, it’s most likely a painful process, leaving friends, teammates, etc. back at PSU. Besides this – who cares? Do we really need to know everything about how this came about? I don’t. How much detail do you have on the recruitment of Bester, Everett, or Green who came from another program? IDGAFF

You are a reporter and want unlimted access and total information. But how about first detailing every aspect of the hiring of the new sports reporter for the Oklahoman? Don’t you think readers have a right to know why you selected her and on what basis she was given the job. Did you contact her previous employer before contacting her? Did you contact her first or did she contact the Oklahoman? How much did she make in her previous job and how much is the Oklahoman paying her? Don’t you think readers deserve this information? Or is complete openness only good for those you cover and not the paper that does the covering?

From reading how private this kid is as told by his High School coach, it’s very possible Mr. Brown told Coach Stoops as a condition of his transfer. “Coach Stoops, please don’t discuss how I came to OU. I have a strong relationship with my coaches and team mates and have respect for each of them. Having spent the last 3-4 years of my life with them and enduring a tremendous tradgedy to a once proud program with them has been extremely tough and personal. Please respect my privacy as I move to OU as a positve for me personaly without making me look selfish for leaving.” If you were a coach, wouldn’t you honor this kids wishes… Bob owes no explination but to say in honoring his wishes I don’t need to go into the history of how he came to OU…

Mickeylargo’s assertion is absolutely 100% correct. Brown contacted OU more than once, not vice versa. Brown was torn between loyalty to PSU, which he is and was, and the fact, PSU’s fortune (as well as Brown’s NFL hopes) falls on the shoulders of a QB who could not start for a single BXII team.

The decision to depart PSU for Brown probably created ire by PSU fans more than the loss of Silas Redd to USC, so Brown probably does not want the scab pulled off.
