Oh, I would not call it bullying, I would just call it Booing. These guys put themselves in the public spotlight and get paid a LOT of money doing it. I wish I could get paid millions of dollars to play a kids game every day. I dought though if the guys feelings were hurt too much though. If I were him, I would flash my paycheck at the crowd and laugh.

Interesting that at a time when 'bullying' among children has taken center stage in our national media, adults would teach their children by example for the entire nation to see that it is OK to bully a visiting player.....or anyone, for whatever reason....no matter how trivial. KC fans, you have no class and should be ashamed. I actually had to turn off the TV I found it to be so bad. A complete embarrassment and dangerous message to our youth.

I was a Royals fan for a long time. Every summer, every chance I got, I would have the Royals games on the radio. Then in 94, George Brett retired. No biggie, nobody plays forever. The Royals got off to a slow start, but right before the all-star game, they had a fifhteen game winning streak and were only a couple games out of first place. I was real excited. Then an artical came out in the paper saying the Royals wanted to go on strike. It was like that winning streak ment more to me than to them. Then the strike came. After the strike was over, the Royals traded their ace pitcher, Bret Saberhagen to the Mets, then they traded Kevin Sietzer and Hal Mcrae Jr to the Cubs. I saw the writing on the wall, I turned on the radio and listened for half an inning, and then shut it off and haven't watched or listened to a baseball game with any intrest since. And by the way, the Royals haven't been very good since.

As a KC fan watching from several hundred miles away I could not be more proud of what I saw...the entire booing incident was blown out of proportion. The league ought to allow for one hometown boy to participate in the Derby. Royals fans showed that given the opportunity they really do care about baseball. A packed house for ALL of the events is incredible. Cano's handlers should do a better job of PR training with the dude. Man up big boy.
Go Royals!

I loved it... Royals fans don't get many chances to boo the Yankees anymore. It used to be the best rivalry in baseball. He should have been booed JUST because he was a Yankee! Hats off to the Kansas City fans. They packed the place for the Futures game and the Celebrity Softball Game (which never sells out)....and cheered for (almost) everybody last night (including Cardinals players). Their respect of Chipper Jones was nice as well...

I thought KC pulled off a great All Star Weekend..

The constant booing was over the top. The fans of Kansas City got the All-Star game they deserved. A boring blowout where the AL misses out on World Series home field advantage again. Not that the Royals will ever see the WS again in our lifetimes.

Here's a suggestion. Just cancel the silly home run derby. Cancel the silly NBA slam-dunk contest too.

Just play the games.

Really, Tram? You and Bud Selig are rewarding bad behavior. Here's a concept: have hitters who DESERVE to be in the derby compete. The Royals' token All Star selection clearly did not meet that minimum standard. I'm all for taking the selection away from a player. That wasn't fair to Cano. Let a manager or league president select the team. But, based on the fact that the three players Cano selected all made the cut to the Final Four, he knew what he was doing...
