From DFW here... so a Mavs fan. While I agree with both the comments that Nash can be a defensive liability... keep in mind that the finishing five for Lakers not will be Nash, Meta, Kobe, Pau and Andrew... Most playoffs games will be won/lost in the 4Q and this is a dangerous lineup. You can neither leave Nash open nor ignore the others as Nash will assist like no one. Also, Lakers play decent help d, and guard the paint well. OKC should be at least a little worried.

As a Phoenix-area resident, I'm afraid I have to disagree, Jeff. Lakers will definitely be better next year with Nash than they were with Sessions this past year. And Nash will make the other Lakers better offensively (especially Bynum, I suspect). And Nash can score in bunches as well, especially on a team with so many other threats. Will be interesting to see if it hurts the Lakers over time, however.

This is a great trade for the Thunder. The Lakers give up their future for the next two years for a 39 year old point guard who can't guard anyone and everyone knows the offense is still "get the ball to Kobe, and if that don't work, look for Pau".
Like Joe Montana in Kansas City, this is a case of a GM and a bunch of sports writers looking at past greatness instead of the reality of time.
