Why do the Oklahoman columnists continue to refer to murderous thugs who shoot people as "knuckleheads"?

As someone noted yesterday, knuckleheads are people who spray-paint graffiti and the like. People who shoot other people are something altogether different.

Speaking of access to alcohol, the Thunder Alley beer garden shut down at half-time, just prohibit coolers like they used to and problem solved. Bars don't stop serving alcohol at half-time, seems like there'd be more fights.

I understand why the city is taking the actions it's taking. You can't put citizens in harms way. But the up-side of Thunder Alley is far greater than the shooting, as unfortunate as it was.

Providing a mechanism to build a true sense of community across the economic strata provides incalculable benefits to OKC. Instead of shutting it down, the City should recognize its value, and invest in stricter security mechanisms. More patrols, horse mounted officers, maybe reduced access to alcohol, whatever. Take lessons from crowd control at OU games if needed. There are plenty of ways to provide a safe environment. Considering the newness of the event, we should just learn from what has happened, not destroy something that makes OKC special.

People seem to still miss the fact that the shooting took place after a fight at the Sonic 3-4 blocks away, just outside of said Sonic. From what I've read the OKC Mayor and the OKC Police Chief have been looking for a valid reason to end the watch party without drawing too much criticism, problem is the shooting had absolutely nothing to do with the game, team, or watch party which makes their reason pretty much invalid. Seems like the Cornett can't handle the big league city he wanted. OKC residents may feel this overreaction only affects them; it doesn't I live in Tulsa, I was never into sports of any kind until OKC got the Thunder. Attenting a Thunder Alley watch party was the most fun I've had in years, but no more. I don't want to sit in a bar, where I'm encouraged to buy drinks while some rowdy guy spills his beer all over me in celebration. It's just not worth the 2 hour drive, the $50+ in gas, or the $8 round trip toll for a chance to win tickets or miss the game entirely while driving home disappointed. Thunder up, Cornett! Find us a good alternative.

With the technology now available, the Thunder can invest in hologram technology. The Spanish football (soccer) club Real Madrid, is currently building a stadium in Dubai, that will be showing live football (soccer) from Spain via hologram in Dubai. They could do that in the Cox Center and charge half price. The Thunder would then be the first basketball team to do so. What do you guys think?
