Sorry Thompson, Allen, and Bell….get a soft pad you will be sitting another year on the sideline. On the flip side there are other teams looking for talent!

Most of the negative comments come from people who never coached a day or probably never played or even made a team in their day. OU coaches didn’t just wake up one morning and said I am a coach.

Sooner whatever…the only thing dead here is your brain. You mean 2010 when he led the OU offense to 588 yards and threw for 4 TD’s? Yeah he was real skeered. OR was it 2009 when he helped shut you out 27-0. You’ve won TWO games in TEN years! You may GO now.

I am sure OSU will be happy to see Landry back on the field in Bedlam. They know in tough games Landry falls apart. Yup, Landry owns most OU passing records but get real…he will have played four years as the starter. Yup, he is a good QB but for OU to win and go the the NC they need a great QB. Now next year OU will have a stable of players but have a rookie QB…so Bob just opted for medicrity for this year and next. Bob acts like he has already retired and lost the risk taking and fire of his earlier years. Kinda comfy at OU for him…big bucks..just keep competitive and he will be around for a long long time.

Landry is near the top of the list as one of the most prolific quarterbacks in OU history. He has the physical size, strength, accuracy, arm strength, and intelligence to be a quarterback at the next level. That’s 90 percent of what they look at come draft time. You can criticize him all you want, but Berry is right. He will go in the top 10, and he’ll only get better this year.

I laugh at some of the comments on here. Last I looked, football is a team sport. If you score 50 and give up 51, what did you accomplish? If you give up 13 and only score 12, what’s the message? I’ve never seen any one player beat 11 others for 60 minutes in my life. EVER. 2011 was an injury disaster. Tell me one team who loses a #1 RB, a #1 receiver with a first year OC that was successful. When you throw in a jekyl and hyde defense that was too complex for players to grasp and be “players”, you have a recipe for disappointment. Jones has a chance, with supporting cast help, to be one of the best at OU ever. The fact that he came back because he knew he fell short is testament to character. I vote we let it play out and look at the bottom line.

Berry, arguing that Landry is a first round draft prospect does nothing prove that OU will have success with him behind center. Using your very own examples from the 2011: Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, Christian Ponder. All of them were recent first rounders but where are the winners? Where are the college championships from those QBs??
