From players I have heard from, there is a lot of concerns that the interior of the defensive line despite upperclassmen leadership may be the achilles heal of the team. Their failure to stop the run will suck the linebackers up and we will get beat on the play action again. The talent at DT appears to be in younger players but Stoops may be hesitant to put them in. How much they are worked in may be the gauge of how much trouble we are in this year.

It is a spring game...a game that had a significant number of starters missing on both sides of the ball. Really, what can you tell? A patchwork d-line with no rush and apparently gaping holes. Mike Stoops is right...all e phases of the D must work together for us to be a dominant D. Obviously, the weakness upfront would make it harder on the linebackers and secondary to get their jobs done. I don't think we really know much about the D at this point. There is still a lot of work to do. Would be the same story if BV was still there. It sounds like to me Mike Stoops focused on getting back to basics. Tackle and hit hard. Assignment football. Physicality and getting into shape. Technique. Essentially a clinic on the basic concepts of defense. Just like he did when he first came to Norman. Though Rex Ryan had made big strides in putting a fire in the belly of OU defenders and played sound schemes with the talent he had.

Folks should have just had a great time watching the new talent and getting one last look until Sept.

The victory was no significant injuries.
