@randall @ d.smith
top 6 (to include lakers) w/l since April started are as follows.
1. Bulls 4-4
2. Spurs 8-2
3. Thunder 5-5
4. Heat- 6-4
5. Pacers- 10-1 (!)
6. Lakers- 7-3

only half the elite teams are playing better than mediocre ball right now. It's evident they are just dialing it in til playoffs start. Let's not count them out just yet, shall we?

[...] Berry Tramel says the Thunder lost their composure: “But misery had company Monday night. Kevin Durant, too, got frustrated. A lack of fundamentals — taking care of the ball, not understanding situations, trying to make a point by making a play — led to empty possession after empty possession. Westbrook and Durant had five turnovers each. Paul seemed to get under Westbrook’s skin, and the goofy Nick Young seemed to get under Durant’s. The Thunder’s two all-stars combined to make 11 of 34 shots. Eventually, the composure loss spread to defense, where in the fourth quarter Durant, trying to help out in the lane, let Young free for open shot after shot, and the penetrating Paul found Blake Griffin open for easy dunks down the stretch, when the Clips broke away.” [...]

It seems to me that when our Thunder All-stars head to their home towns, their performance drops off dramatically. Losing to the Wizards in D.C. (KD's home town) as well as some pathetic showings in L.A. (Russ' neighborhood) appear to be aborations - but are they?

Wonder what our boys were up to on Sunday in LA. Maybe OKC being a town with a little less glitter is the best thing for us.

Just saying. Any thoughts?

I wouldn't want to avoid the Clippers. I welcome them in the first round. We can beat them. Does anyone believe they're better than we are? Match-up problems? Just give us a game that means something and I think the Thunder will dominate this game. Clippers were playing for their playoff lives, but we were in the midst of a 5-game road swing and a late game at that. Who needs a triple overtime game at this point in the season? Not the Thunder. I don't think the Thunder are worried about the Clips. I only hope they are worried about their own fine-tuning for whoever they meet.

To be the champs, you gotta beat the champs. And no matter how old Dallas is, they are still the champs. We are in line to draw them in Round 1. Dallas has a mental edge over OKC. Do not be surprised, if we meet them in game one, to see Dallas advance. Bottom line: OKC is playing mediocre ball now, when it should be peaking. This team appears to have peaked in March, and is going back down the curve.
