Artesia NM to Lubbock TX is only 178 miles. So the line in the article about Landry Jones getting to play in front of fans from his hometown is a bit ridiculous. By coming to OU Landry would get a chance to play at Tech at least once and maybe twice. This is just another example of Berry Tramel doing the media spin work for OU. OU vs UTEP in El Paso is NOT a good game for the TEAM or the FANS. If OU had to travel somewhere why not South Florida or Hawaii? I would like OU to look at playing a first game of the year against a fairly good team at a neutral field site….like in London. This would be a great thing for the players and the fans.

OU needed a HOME game. This is more Berry Tramel spouting the company line about what a wonderful game this is. It is a make do game because OU couldn’t schedule a home game.

I live near El Paso, out here in the sand, so I am excited for this game. El Paso people are very friendly and laid back, I hope Sooner Nation travels decently for this game.
