I couldn't have said it better "Greg". I'm so glad we didn't get invited to the ACC; I much prefer the Big12. I appreciate all the kind words Big12 fans have to say about us joining the conference. I know it won't be easy, but I truly believe that in a couple of years we will be as competitive as any team in the Big 12. Look what Dana did in his 1st year with WVU. I hope that we join in 2012. I hate to stay 2 more years in the BE. Oliver, do what ever you need to do to leave. If it takes million's (buy out) do it.

Thank you Big XII for inviting us to come and be a part of one of the greatest college athletic conferences in the land. I prefer, and respect, the culture and tradition of the Big XII over the ACC any day of the week and can't wait for the day we officially leave the Big East. For the first time in roughly 10 years I will be able to enjoy a WVU football game without hearing about how terrible the conference is or what team is leaving for another conference. This invite means the world to us - thanks!

I wish they would have ran the score up even more after the way the ACC has talked down to us over the years.

Other than the travel distance I would much rather be in the Big 12, would be nice to see them add Lville and Cincy though.

Seriously. Morgantown is a straight one hour shot from the Pittsburgh airport. Four lanes the whole way and it's even paved! Gotta love the 70 mph speed limit in wv.

Wow it's amazing to read some of the comments on here about WVU's location, like it's in some remote jungle or something. I visit there all the time from Miami and I just fly into Pittsburgh and drive down. It's 70 miles south of Pburgh, for crying out loud. What's the big deal? And to get there from Pittsburgh is interstate driving, not dirt roads and foot paths. I hope some of you people will quit dissing one of the greatest college cities in America. Go visit there before you make such inaccurate and negative comments. I've lived in Miami for many years and I long for the day I can move back to Morgantown. It's a great place to live.

Spent 9 days in Colorado this fall fishing, and just got back from 3 weeks in Jamaica. Colorado is more expensive than WV and , in Jamaica, the basics of life [and I don't mean palatial resorts], are as expensive if not more so.Lived in Oklahoma and know that getting into Morgantown is no more of a challenge that getting into several of the college towns of the plains. LSU fans made it to Mountaineer Field in troves, and it is no finger-snap to find flights out of the bayous. WVU fans are just happy to be out of the Big East, and are glad to be joining the Big 12. ACC makes more sense geographically, but it wasn't to be. Remember what "Huggie-Bear and his team will bring to the mix. It is going to be fun. Challenging and fun!

I don't know about the court issue. It potentially has a broader implication than WV and the Big East. There is a constitutional issue in that you cannot bind furture legislatures with appropriations. Thia ia typically not waivable by a state agency. It doesn't appear to have been raised, but could put all conferences with state schools binding for future years in jeaprody. It would probably be prudent for the Big East to settle with WV and get the issue over with.
