Some good points. How about the fact that OU always plays at least 5 top 25 Schools per season. They play the best, strongest, most hard hitting prime athletic players and teams in the country. Game after games Season after season.
Compared to a Pac 12, Big 10, ACC, The Big 10 and all of the other weaker conferences. And please don't forget the worst of them all "Girlsie St." Opps, meant Boise st. No wonder these schools of lesser talent and quality go 10-2 or 11-1 with no injuries and higher ratings while OU suffers.

OU players in the pros also injured at a greater frequency. I think something in the way Schmitty does the workouts is to blame. Too many torn biceps and other odd ball injuries. That also explains players like Malcolm Kelly having a 4.5 40 as a freshman and dropping off a 4.8 at the combine.

Want to add this to conversation, the less you practice in pads and less practice time leads to less injuries and Cowboys only practice 1 hr 15 minutes per day to avoid injuries. A famous Ada HS football coach by name of Elvan George in 1950's won 6 straight State Championships by those practice habits the Cowboys now follow.
The Cougars once season started had pads on Monday only and rest of time in shorts, helmets and running all the time.
You have to have all players playing their best and healthy when it counts toward end of season.

an opinion only....there are so many more ways to make stronger muscles that ever before. Machines and diet have in my opinion made muscles to strong for the other body parts to stay up with. when some one cuts and get injured without even being touched his muscle has just overwhelmed another part. I do not know what you do about it except braces and stretching under an controlled management. Lots of favorable response to the yoga that is done in a high humidity heated room to keep parts flexible.

Have you tried the Alexander Technique? It addresses directly the way people move, making them able to do more efficiently, whatever they are able to do.

The Alexander Technique is fantastic in dealing with any repetitive activities. It teaches football players to become more aware of their potentially harmful habits that may gradually lead to injury.

Also, there is very little specific Alexander practice. What the players learn on their Alexander-lessons, can be applied immediately into their football playing.

There is strong eveidence that the Technique is the best cure for chronic back pain http://www.bmj.com/content/337/bmj.a2656.full -and a strong, effortlessly moving back gives great support for the knees as well.

you guys are amazing because last years team dictates what's going to happen this weekend. Or what's happened the past decade, does NOT affect the way these teams are playing this year. But when you lose if you need to keep looking at your stats and saying to yourself well we won all these other games, by all means go ahead. But please don't throw previous years games to describe whats going to happen this year little OU fan. Oh and last i checked we have the better QB, better WR, better RB, better OL, so i'm not sure where you guys are winning that recruiting battle...

Dan the article is an attempt to explain injuries and not to make excuses, but since you brought it up...I do think that with Whaley playing against Texas Tech that the Sooners win that one. Tech showed they were vulnerable against power running. Just having him in there for that game would have made a difference and who knows how the Baylor game would have gone with Whaley and Broyles both playing. Defenses must account for those two players! Both TT and Baylor games were close without them playing. It just goes to reason that with them the outcome would be different. As for the OSU game, whose to say, but I'm looking forward to it and expect it to be competitive.

You Cowboy fans can argue all you want...but you can't argue with the facts, which are that OU leads the series 87-17-7. Another fact is this...its one of the most lopsided series in college football (if not the most lopsided). OSU has played well this year and the Sooners have underperformed...at least in the minds of many of their fans. I expect OU will play to the level of their opponent as they often do. If that happens, OSU will lose yet again! BOOMER!

Okay little OSU fan. Why are you evening talking? 0-for the last 8...you ought to be a little humble and just hope that this is the one year you can get a victory. You know once Weeden moves on you have absolutely no chance. Check the recruiting rankings...OU is always better than you.
