God I hope not. That guy is a novelty act. How many championships did they win when he was there?

I hope our AD has a little more self respect than to hire a retread who will be looking for a better job after his first year. (Remember how he did that at Tech but still never got hired anywhere?).

If we want to hire a 7-5 coach, there are plenty of less costly and more loyal options than Mike Leach.

Leach is a loose cannon. He might end up somewhere, but there’s a reason he hasn’t be hired by anyone.

I never was a fan of his gimmick offense, and it seems like more than half there wins when he was at TTech were against little sisters of the poor. When I look over their results during his time, they only had one decent season and a bunch of 4 and 5 loss season.

But IMO the biggest problem with Leach is that they hated him bad enough to fire him. If the guy can’t get along with the people paying him really big bucks, what makes anyone think he’ll get along with the administration at KU? He didn’t get fired because of the shed incident, he got fired because they were sick of dealing with his ego. I’d like to see KU aim a little higher than a mediocre coach (by overall record) with a lousy attitude.

And if you believe what Tech fans are saying, he’s a lazy/lousy recruiter too.

I think Leach might get an arizsona or arizona state job. I mean he could clean house in the pac 12 and usc would be the only problem. Heck he might even get ucla, and would have fun at any of those jobs especially on the west coast at ucla.
Hey another thing, why do ou coaches crap out every time they get a head coaching job?

Leach might not be as unpalatable for KU as you might think. Under Leach Tech led the league in graduation rates.

Bring the pirate back! It was good seeing the Big 12 be as competitive as it was this year. It’s the second best conference right now, and it will only get stronger next year with the addition of TCU and WVU. I want it to stay that way. Kansas is not going to get anyone better than Leach so they need to get off of their high horses and offer him. I heard they wanted Manny Diaz, but if Manny is smart like Muschamp, he won’t take the first crap job to come calling and will wait for a better one to open up in a few years.

Leach is a good fit for any team. Kansas would do great with Leach coaching that team. As far as Venables,,, send him to tenbucktwo or some where. That way OU some kind of A Defense.

Kansas–who cares! There’s a job opening today in Memphis.Go Vennables! Of course he’d probably have to take a pay cut.However,he’d have a good shot as Memphis has a history of bad coaching choices.
