The politics, the money for networks and schools needs to be overhauled. The BCS has not and never will work. How in the heck does Houston get ranked with the schedule they play??? If they were in the Big 12 they might be 500 and that is a big might!! There is no reason not to have a play off system and the bowl births could evolve from conference champs playing each other. Who wants to tune into these pre-conference games like Florida international vs. Texas Tech or Texas?? So do away with them!!! Go into conference play after a scrimmage and one game and put in place a play off system. What do these bowls mean if no.1 and no.2 don't play each other and 3 and 4 don't play each other. How many years have we seen a team ranked no 1 at the end of the season and there are 1 or 2 other teams that may have been able to beat the number one ranked team in the nation in January. Another thing that makes no sense is for a team to practice and wait a whole month to play. That is too much time and offenses lose their timing. Defenses are not effected like offenses with being in sync and the timing of the offense and how it functions. After a month off it is hard to tell which team was actually better at the end of the season, many teams don't play well with that much time off!!! This whole NCAA division 1 needs an overhaul. Many of these schools that moved up to division 1 in football have hurt the quality of football at this level.

Something everyone seems to be overlooking is if lsu did lose to Georgia they would get the sec automatic bid and only two teams out of one conference can go to a bcs bowl so therefore both lsu. And Alabama could not play in the championship game umless they circumvent the rules

DId a quick look at the standings and it seems Michigan will probably move up to the required 14th spot after this weekend...both Wisconsin and Michigan State are right in front of them and one of them will lose in the Big 10 Championship game....if LSU beats Georgia, the Bulldogs would probably fall below Michigan as well making the Wolverines eligible for an at-large BCS bid.

If I understand the BCS rules correctly (and God knows I may not), at-large teams from BCS conferences must be ranked in the Top 14 of the final BCS standings (plus have 9 or more wins). Michigan is currently sitting at 16 so they would need to move up two spots to be eligible for a spot in one of the games.

The Cotton Bowl is not going to take an OU team with 3 losses (including 2 of their last 3) when KState is sitting there at 10-2 and finishing strong.

Also, The Big XII certainly isn't going to give Missouri a Big XII bowl when Iowa State needs a place to go. So unless ISU doesn't want the Pinstripe that is where they will end up.

Don't be surprised if OU loses to OSU to see Alamo take Texas/Baylor winner and Holiday take the loser.
