I agree with Dodds being Neinas' boss. I don't understand why the Big XII pays out all that money to have a commissioner and conference office. They could get rid of all that, save the money and just let it be run directly out of the Texas AD's office. That would cut out the middle man. If Texas wants Louisville and Cinn. then the Big XII will go get them, if not they won't. I really don't think Texas cares if the Big XII goes to 12 teams or 14 teams or 16 MUST have 10 teams to keep the existing TV contracts. I still believe Texas is looking at going independent and taking ALL their TV rights with them. They will get the same BCS deal Notre Dame has. Finish in the top 12 and they get a BCS bowl. They can schedule a push over schedule with at least 11 wins each season and 8 home games a year. The Big XII is the next Big East.

The Big 12 should jump on Louisville and Cincinnati NOW, lest they wake up one morning to ESPN reporting those schools added to the ACC as 15 and 16. We could do a hell of a lot worse than those two schools and it would give some permanency to the league. Look around at all the other major conferences. They are sitting at 12 or 14 teams and may expand further. If we stay at 10 it will just be further proof that the Big 12 is temporary and is run by a bunch of doddering old fools, led by Neinas and Dodds.

Barry, I agree let's get Louisville now while they are ready and the Big East is in turmoil. I don't like the idea of getting Notre Dame - especially without football. Then you have another prima dona wanting to rule the league. I say go get Cinn. and go to 12 if we are going there anyway. They bring a decent tv market, good football and good basketball. Then you could divide the conference into east west with Cinn, WV, Louisville, Iowa St and either KSU and KU or OSU and TCU as the other two teams. That would cut down the travel some and have a pretty solid conference.

Sorry, but the ONLY way Louisville gets in is if the Big XII goes to 12 teams. No way anyone agrees to a schedule where it is possible one team may not play Texas and OU and OSU EVERY year. If K-State didn't have OU and OSU on the schedule this year they would be conference champions. The SCHEDULE would determine the conference champion. So if Louisville wants in they need to get Notre Dame or BYU on board and petition as a pair of teams, otherwise that leaking boat of a conference has already sailed and they are stuck in the sinking like a sieve Big East.
