The Sooners didn't lose to Texas Tech, they got BEAT. If the offense were playing like it should the only time a kicker should be on the field is to kick extra points and kick off. When OU even attempts a field goal it is because the OFFENSE has FAILED. That being said OUs kicking should be a concern. But also failing to score a touchdown when you have first and goal and settling for a field goal instead costs OU 4 points. Add back in those 4 points and OU wins. This was a team beat down and if they don't play MUCH better on Saturday it will happen again. Face it OU was overrated this year and too much was expected of a good but certainly not GREAT team. At least this way it won't end up OU losing big in another BCS championship game. If OU is lucky and ends up somehow winning the Big XII we can hope they get the Big East champion in the Fiesta Bowl again.

Slightly off-topic maybe. I know the loss hurts, but Barry Tramel is only the messenger. He's obviously good at what he does or he wouldn't be writing for the Oklahoman. You knew what the topic was going to be when you read "What a difference three points makes." You knew you were going to have to read about how OU stunk up the place for various reason when you made the choice to read the content. No one forced you to click on the story and read it. Don't blame Barry. In fact, when OU loses I don't even want to read the sports page until after the following game (provided they win.) We all deal with the trauma in difference ways. Let's not publicly disrespect a journalist whose job it is to make commentary on the local teams.

Hasn't been a week and OU fans think it's time to stop mentioning the biggest upset in the Stoops era? I don't think so. That's not how the Goons approach it when they see a score against the Cowboys they find humorous. Any there are still a lot of questions to be answered if you guys are to figure out whats wrong there. One I would like to see someone get to the bottom of is the real reason Dom Whaley didn't even attempt to play when all he had was the flu or a cold? I've seen lots of football players play with colds, flu, etc. and play well. Played with stomach flu myself before so I know that does not explain the fact that OU's top rusher didn't take the field for a single snap just to see if he could go. Lord knows he was missed. So what was the reason? Nobody has asked as far as I know. I'm not surprised since the OKC media works from Bob's script. Even then he acts like he's having his back waxed and chews the hoard out just about every week. Fact is he has to answer virtually no hard queries compared with just about any high profile head coach at a top college football program in the USA. Consequently the fans and other teams get very little accurate info about player availability from OU. "Hey Coach, what about Dom Whaley. Will he play at Manhattan?" ans: "What? Why do you ask? You must know something I don't know. Maybe he's still sick and maybe he isn't. The trainers handle that and then they tell me at kickoff who we have. So shut up and listen next time."

I was a college senior in 1956 when Tommy Mc Donald was playing. I also remember 1957 when Clendon Thomas was playing and OU lost 7-0 to Notre Dame. Saturday the Sooners lost to Texas Tech due to a host of reasons and there will be other losses in the future. Yet, always remember, O U is a football icon that hold the longest winning record in football history. Also remember, O U is the #3 all time winningest program in U. S. football history, only exceeded by Michigan and Notre Dame. Why get all upset over a loss to Tech. At the end of the season we'll see who ends up on top and who is still scratching to be noticed. TRS
