Interesting article, but now that the game is over, how does it feel to not cover the point spread and to be forced to punt and kick field goals against the worst team of all the BCS conferences? Seriously? You OU fans are hoping that the team you play in your (non-national championship game) bowl this year has a defense that isn’t as tough as KU had the other night.

KUgrad97, you are right on the money. Just look at K-State. The head coach is a strong leader that demands a lot from his coaches and players. He will never win the ‘ I love my big hearted, understanding, Hugs and Kisses’ coach award. But he is winning in the same conference, in the same state, with the same level of players! KU needs to made a coaching change now.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t MOST college level players at LEAST 17/18 years old? In my opinion, if an NCAA football player can’t take harsh words or being yelled at for something he did wrong, then he shouldn’t be playing at a high level. I’m really sick and tired of coaches being called out for being “mean” or “yelling” at these young men. Grow up! And like the saying goes for women whiners “Put on your big-girl panties and deal with it!” Yelling at people never killed any of them. If your feelings are so delicate you definitely shouldn’t be playing football. Mangino was trying to grow these boys into men but their little feelings got in the way. And now, with the “nice guy” coach, no one has the gumption to tell them how to get better using an “inside” voice….

As a KU Fan I regret that Mangino is gone. His teams were always prepared to play and would smack the opponent in the mouth every game – even in games we were beaten badly. That’s just it, Mangino didn’t get beat badly very often for reasons he controlled. Now we have a ‘nice-guy’ coach and a ‘nice-guy’ can’t win at Kansas because we will never get the talent that OU, UT, and others will get. You have to have a disciplinarian with a plan. Mangino had both of those and went to four bowl games (won three of them) in a six year span (including a BCS game). So what do we do? Push him out. Sux.

Kansas fired Mang. because he hurt some players feelings by talking too harsh to them. Kansas deserves to be in the football sewer.
