Although, football is king by this scenario, it is not absolute. Louisville basketball made approx $17 million. What are they doing that everyone else should be following? They make 3.5 times more than Kentucky basketball? As well, beating Duke & UNC…?

It takes much less to run a basketball program so you are comparing apples to oranges. Figure that out and then you have a story.

I think revenue is a better figure to use in judging athletic programs size/power. You can look at a successful segement of a corporation and expense away the profits for a variety of reasons.

OSU at 20th most profitable. I wonder how profitable they’d be without Boone Pickens paying their expenses. That goes right off the bottom line.
