Retired Numbers should stay with the original franchises, period. And if OKC wins the NBA Championship, Seattle shouldn’t throw a parade. And please don’t go where the Dodgers are this year and wear Sonics jerseys as an alternate jersey.

That a boy david! Seattle, i respect the sonics when they were there but they were one of the worst teams in NBA history…..and what happened when they came to OKC. Sure the first year was a losing one but that was because we had to clean up the mess that Seattle left. And now were a 50 game winning team. If you guys would have spent all your time trying to keep seattle there instead of bashing OKC, you might have your team still but i promise they wouldnt even be half the team that they are today if they were still in Seattle. If you were real fans, the Sonics would have stayed there but guess what, they’re the thunder now and its going to stay that way. Thunder up!!!!

claiming the Sonics history is like buying a trophy at a garage sale and saying it is your own trophy. Get real OKC fans, the history belongs to Seattle. And Seattle fans, it’s overe with just let it go, a new team will probably arrive in the next few years.

This is comical. Question. Do the Lakers still have the history from when they were in Minnesota? I think they do.

Personally, I couldn’t care less about keeping the history, and i would rather see perk get to wear 43 if he wanted to, but he doesn’t seem upset by it.

Seattle Fans: I feel sorry for you, in a totally sincere and empathetic way and i hope you can get a team back in the future if for no other reason than having a great rivalry. But if you think the team was better off in Seattle, you clearly haven’t been watching the thunder. Opposing teams (Lakers especially) have great respect for our fans for being the loudest in the NBA and, by the way, fill up the arena every game and vote(d) for measures to improve our facilities in order to get the team – two things Seattlites were not willing/able to do.
