I attended P.C. West in the late '70s when Mike Little coached us to the state championship against our arch-rivals Putnam City. It was another classic game featuring quarterbacks Scott Tinsley and Kelly Phelps. More than 30 years later, Coach Little spoke at the funeral of one of his players from that team. The fact that he still cared about this man and the rest of us after three decades spoke volumes about his character.

He was a class act and will be missed by many. Rest in peace, Coach Little.

I was a senior at PCN for that Yukon - Putnam North game. Putnam City Stadium was filled to the brim and then some - never quite seen that stadium so full. Little took advantage of his intimate knowledge of the PCN personnel, including throwing in the corner of the endzone to his 6'3" TE over the 5'8" PCN CB for the final score. It did break the 23 game win streak and PCN's back. Next week, first round in the playoffs, PCN goes down to Lawton Ike in a blowout.
