Does your OU homer-ship know no bounds? He was celebrating a great play that may have been his last in college and he did it while avoiding a “Bronx Salute” penalty.

Whether Blackmon did was beyond the pale. Excited football players who score don’t taunt the opposition by intentionally running parallel to the goal line before crossing it. It was poor sportsmanship on Blackmon’s part and yes, it reflects badly on his character.

Another thing, Stoops be-raided Kenny Stills in the Texas Tech game after he jump spiked the ball between his legs after a touchdown. I didn’t see Gundy or anyone on the side lines react to Blackmon’s little celebration. Although Stills celebration was more obvious, it’s like, “come on, is it really necessary?” It took Weeden, the offensive line, and everyone else on offense to execute the play. It wasn’t just Blackmon that made it happen. Just score and be thankful that the play was executed properly by everyone else.

This is honestly ridiculous. Should he have done it, probably not. Personally knowing him, he is a terrific person and just got excited like any young athlete would in this situation. A comparison to Stills can’t be accurate? He entered the endzone and spiked a ball between his legs? That’s way more offensive than running parallel to the endzone. Why are you allowing a player with that ability to be in single coverage anyway? If your making this a big deal than the clear cheap shot should be mentioned also. Complaining about this is bush league.

Michael and I were in Houston watching the game but we are from Oklahoma, and we were ASTOUNDED that someone would pull such a stunt as Blackmon did by running paralell with the goal line! Not one comment by the announcers! We have forever lost respect for this renigade!

Blackmon was just doing what kids do…What was completely ridiculous was Gundy’s reaction to his players conduct. He shrugged it off. It’s Gundy that is total bush league.

All you need to look at to understand the difference between OU and OSU, and Stoops and Gundy:

Compare Stoops reaction when Kenny Stills spiked the ball after a long TD reception to Gundy’s lack of a reaction to Blackmon’s ridiculous taunt. Nuf said.

Man, there is a LOT of knee jerk, over reacting going on here! Was I a fan of what Blackmon did? No. I prefer the players to just hand the ball to the refs and go hug/chest bump/jump into a teammate on their way off the field, but come on people! If any of you have EVER scored a big TD or the equivalent in any sport than you know that sometimes the excitement takes over and you do something you normally wouldn’t. It doesn’t mean he or anyone else has terrible character, it means they were excited. He HAS been in the endzone before and how many “punk” things have I seen him do? Zero before that. All those me-first receivers in the NFL do it EVERY time they get in the endzone, Blackmon did it once. Give the kid a break. No flag was the correct call there, just like at K-State. No flag should have been thrown there either. Just relax and enjoy the games. I for one hope Blackmon comes back next year, and if we get to another bowl (hopefully BCS) then I’m OK with him doing it 1 more time. Go Pokes!

Tram sounds like a typical OU supporter/OSU hater.

Why do people feel the need to make such a big deal out of things like this? It’s a freaking football game. Key word: game. Does anyone else think we all take this stuff a bit too seriously?
