And in keeping with the concepts of justice, upon your next speeding ticket and/or Texas Type C Misdemeanor equivalent blunder, the Oklahoman will plaster your pic on their front page, publicly condemn you for “stupidity”, and then suspend you for a full month (1/12th) without pay as well, Berry.

I agree Berry needs to stick to covering OU in his own very biased way!!! Jenny also needs to keep her opinions to herself, she is big OU fan. I guess the murderer they put to death in Arizona was a big OU fan too, his last words were Boomer Sooner. What a guy.

You should read “Comment by Steve on October 27, 2010 @ 3:15 pm ” then go back and review your commentary regarding an OU player. Start by listening to your video report on July 27 when Moses Madu was arrested for DUI. His blood-alcohol level was TWICE the legal limit and I did not see you telling Coach Stoops how to discipline his player, or writing extensive journalism about the OU program. It must be so hard for you to hide your bias for OU over OSU, but as a prominent journalist in Oklahoma, I wish you would try harder.

First…we do not know any details as to Blackmon testing and results for alcohol….it seems being he was released shortly thereafter he was NOT drunk. It may be that he never even took a dring.

As for DUI it is overstated…..the crime it seems would be that he, if he did drink, was that he was underage. That is completely a different issue. How many people go to the Cowboy games and buy a beer and then drive home. They do not get a DUI if stopped unless there blood alcohol level is above limits.

Vicki, in Texas, if you are under 21, they charge you with DUI even if you are within the legal limit for adults. Since there was no breath or blood test done, they simply charged him as DUI based on their suspicions/observations. Just like in the days before breathalyzers existed. Field sobriety tests are joke, though, the police simply write up whatever “boilerplate” stuff they think is needed to get a person convicted. I know that from personal experience when I was stopped many years ago, and never even got a ticket because the only thing I was charged with was DUI. It didn’t fly because I DID take the breath test and was way below the legal limit, and I felt totally sober. But you should have read the police report, which had me falling down drunk! It would have been laughed out of court by the JUDGE, given my breathalyzer results, so I was never even charged! You cannot trust the police on the reports they file at all. It was a very “sobering” lesson for me, I had been SO-O-O naive about the police prior to that! Just good people doing a tough job, right?? Wrong! Call them for help at your own peril, they are more likely to harm than help you.
