You lost me, in the initial section of Big 12: No resistance from the North . I think I get what you are illustrating. I realise what you are saying, but you must recognize that you will uncover some other types on the globe who may possibly not agree with you. There is no smoke without fire and in that respect there are no remarks without postings.

Tramel might be an Oklahoma guy, but he’s got a valid point:

The B12/10 will lose bowl revenue, and exposure, by not having 12 teams.

Will the B12/10 expand in the foreseeable future? Realistically, no team from the SEC, Big10/11/12, or PAC-10 is going to leave their existing conference.

Are there any schools out there (1) we could persuade to leave their current conference, and (2) that would be bona fide additions to the Big 12, and not just another mouth to feed?

I’m taking about schools with some class, and at least some street cred in an overall athletic program.

After living in Missouri for a year, their Governor is not
the only one with a pompous attitude. Those people, for the
majority, have very little humility. They deserve to be
snubbed by the Big-10 and PAC-10. Most of them make Colo. people look like good ole boys. There’s another self-centered,
the world revolves around us, state and school. The Golden
Buff’s. After seeing how those two, JC & Boren, handled the
situatuion, makes you long for the return of Bill Banowsky
and Wade Walker. If that $4.5 million dollar coach OU has was
beating Texas and winning BCS Bowls, OU might have had more
stroke in this matter.

Was the north intended to be a remedial division? Once we get past the current weak-strong schedules, teams will finish in whatever spot they earn. As much as I want my Jayhawks to win, I know, in football, talking about championships (or championship games) without playing OU or UT during the season is foolhardy. In basketball, it will be nice that all the south teams will now have to try to win a game in Allen Fieldhouse.

Except in the Pac-10′s case it wasn’t just USC and the rest if you really look at it. Sure USC had a few really great years, but Oregon did as well, the Huskies went to the Rosebowl in 2001, Washington State in 2003. Etc.

The other difference is the revenue sharing in the Pac-10 is equal, so even though USC did awesome, TV revenue wise the shares were split up evenly. Under the Big 12 Lite (aka Texas and co.) Texas gets a bigger share of the pie which will only help it gain more and more dominance along with Oklahoma to a lesser extent.

hahaha…….the big 12 didn’t want to become part of the PAC 10, yet it just became the Pac10. True round robin in football, double round robin in basketball.

Now labeled as Texas and the rest…..sound familiar? (USC and the rest).

Now the B12 bigshots, UT and OU are going to face what the pac10 has been dealing with for years; 1 loss and you’re out of the National championship game because they don’t play worthy opponents in conference.

Guess what, UT and OU can’t schedule cupcakes as part of their OOC or they will always be looking at the national championship from the outside.

KSU is 4-2 against Texas. Wins by 41, 17, 3, and 21. The two losses were by 3 (blocked fg on last play) and 4 (Vince Young miracle drive after Roberson fumbled inside the Texas 10. Ron Prince is 2-0 against Texas. That’s right more than 10% of his wins in his head coaching career are against Texas.

Nice south division bias here. You discount victories by K-State and Missouri as “inexplicable” and “unexplainable?” Gimme a break. Sounds like someone is still bitter about losing the Big 12 championship game 35-7 to K-State.
