think that my beloved Sooners would actually do well in the Big 10 overall and it will be better for the Sooner fan base. If you think about it, we have played most of our national championships with teams east of the Rockies. The PAC-10 is collapsing too. Also, I don't see Sooner football doing well in November or December in the rain in Corvallis, Eugene, or Seattle. OU also has some history playing Big 10 teams both during the regular season and post-season. And yes, it will be about money and there will be a lot more interest in OU football (and other sports) east of the Rockies. It will help us tap into the Ohio-Pennsylvania recruiting connection as well as it will allow us to still hold onto north Texas. I see Texas making the jump to the West Coast or SEC but OU would be better served looking into the heartland. OU now has solid academic credentials that the Big 10 is looking for too. It is a win-win for OU. The West Coast is a question mark. Add in OU, NU, MO, ND, and maybe ARK or TN or PITT, and wow, the Big 10 looks real good and competes well against the SEC.

I love the idea of the Big 12 South joining the Pac-10. If the Big Ten, SEC, and ACC/Big East can all form their own super-conferences, those 4 conferences could create their own playoff system. As for the likes of Kansas/KSU/Boise St/TCU - who cares what happens to them?

Berry, I disagree with you more than I agree, but I think your thoughts about the state schools and expansion has been spot on. Both OU & OSU would be wise to jump on the Pac-16 boat with the revenues that it would bring, and a forward thinking commissioner like Larry Scott.

The Big Ten is a better fit for Nebraska than the Big XII, but they are going to find themselves as small fish in a big pond.
