Back in the glory days of Switzer's OU's wishone teams they ran up the score against weaklings like Kansas, Kansas St. and Iowa State. I got 2 words for Switzer: Miami Hurricanes. When Vinny Testaverde and the rest of the Hurricanes demolished the Sooners, Switzer refused to schedule any more games against the Canes. Peacock should of signed with the Canes. OJ Anderson did. OJ had a much better college and professional career than Peacock.

Dean, your thinking of Charles Thompson...OU's starting QB and Barry's last QB before leaving the program. It wasn't Charles, as he was laid up with the broken leg suffered in the Orange Bowl loss to Miami. It was some friend of his that he told where to find Barry's hidden house key.

For a man like Barry (I've met him - a really good man indeed) to be taken advantage of while doing so much to show his players how much he loved them as persons, is just plain sad.

Personally...knowing what I know about the players he had back then, and those that would be coming, had Barry not been forced to leave...I think the program would have been right back where it had always been...on top. I mean, look at what an underachiever (no disrespect) Gibbs was, and what he was able to accomplish with Barry's players? To me...it was obvious the program sorely missed the talent Barry had that couldn't be taught.

OU went into a coma for over a decade before bringing Stoops on board. The 90's were soooooooo awful!

Question for Michael...what's the definition of a thug, you seem to have inside information on this subject? I have heard it said that "it takes one to know one," Is that true Michael? I'd love to see you call one of those former players a thug to his face...you seem like a real big man. Joke!
