Ivy never played very much and Fogle was a saftey that played like a LB for a year. Very few times is it ok to call someone underachieving when your offensive output was as bleak as it was back then. Anyone who leaves now, it should be looked at as a good thing. I'm sure their backups are willing to see what they can do. That's the allure of going to a big time college, you may get your opportunity Sooner than expected

Say good bye Dom. Good bye Dom! Nobody knows what effect it will have
on the defense. It really depends on the coaching as to how it will effect
anything. Bv has had lots of returning starters during his tenure and had
terrible defense's. This year was an exception in some ways, although
5 loss's were not indicative of a good defense and all the loss's were on
the road, the stats indicate the defense was strong. Sats. don't lie. OU was the only team to finish out of the top-25 with a top-10 total defense. OU needs
to make some staff changes, get some people that can motivate them to
play at a higher level on the road, cotton bowl and bowl games if they are
ever going to return to the early decade teams'00-'03.

Why is it, nobody in the Media can figure out the reason he left is because he got mad at the Coach's for taking him out on punt returns. if anyone needed to return for their Senior season to Improve their STOCK, it would have to be Dom, He got Burnt more than a few times this year. and YES even though every pass was'nt caught, HE STILL GOT BEAT! he got BURNT in the BYU,& texas Game (spun completely around in the BYU game). He may go on and have a long NFL career, like other Sooners who got Burnt a lot, like Anthony Fogle and Corey Ivy. (talk about under-achievers in College)

Who cares if he leaves a year early, some one else will step up, maybe Jonathan Nelson, or Gabe Lynn. at least he won't be back there to return a kick out of end-zone and get stopped well short of the 20 Yd. line ! I think he was serious about coming back, till he got YANKED in the Stanford game for that "BONE-HEAD" return out of the Endzone
WE DON'T NEED PLAYERS who get all pissy and POUT when things don't go their way. (like that litte pre-madonna from Texas Tech) "BRING ON THE HAMMER"

Since when did Dom Franks become Rod Woodson? Remarkable how a guy can go his whole career without being considered a "franchise" player, then retroactively be declared one by a writer after he decides to turn pro. I guess the editorial policy is to apply any spin necessary, no matter how far-fetched, to write a blog that draws attention,

If Gabe Lynn is HALF the player he was hyped to be by the recruiting services, then he should be able to fill the void as a redshirt freshman. The size, speed, position instincts, ball skills, and tackling skills are all there - no reason he can't be a dominant player in his second year on campus. Throw in Hurst and a cast of safeties that reads "Carter, Nelson, Proctor", and the Sooners' secondary is still loaded.

The pessimism towards the offense completely discounts the ability of 18-22 year old kids to IMPROVE. Every player lining up on offense, be it linemen or skill guys, was a highly touted recruit and has an abundance of talent. To think that this season's "baptism by fire", plus a spring & summer of working together with the firstt team won't yield DRAMATIC improvement is careless at best, clueless at worst. The writer of this blog has been covering college football long enough to know better than to be so "matter of fact" rigid in his assessment of this team's potential.

Broyles already said he's definitely coming back. Franks said the same thing a month ago but Broyles said if after the Sun Bowl so I'm bettin it's true.

And to everyone talkin about Landry - take it easy on him! Do you remember what Sam looked like when he was actually on the field? We had the worst offensive line of the Bob Stoops era on the field this year! Demarco and Chris couldn't even run the ball against weak defenses and considering their talent, I'm much more willing to believe that's on the O-line. For all the long-time college football fans - how many times have you seen a poor offensive line make very good quarterbacks look horrible? Sometimes Landry had all the time he wanted but he was usually under too much pressure to consistently feel comfortable. He can make all the throws and he needs our support. People talking bad about him as much as they do only hurts our team!
