top 4 in the big 12 next year?

Kansas and Texas will remain at the top OU is sure to be next in line and Baylor returns almost everyone. then you have TAMU and kstate that again should be very good.

osu is looking at 7 or worse again next season .. not a top 4 finish

I agree with Cody, OSU basketball was a joke before Eddie. Even the last years of Iba the program was down.
I disagree with keeping Sean. He has been onboard the OSU program for more that 14 yrs, both recruiting and coaching. He has recruited players that had to be removed from the program and players that have quit and still has players that should quit.
Sean and staff have not recruited the type of kids that can win at the NCAA level.

What makes anyone think he will turn anything around in one more year? It is time to shuck Sean and look for new blood, look at the Lady's program.

If Sean would have been looking after his dad the alcohol incident and problems would have been addressed before it happened. There is no reason this should have occurred and shamed the program, the whole coaching staff had to know this was going on, no excuse.

Time to make some hard decisions and get it over with, lets revive the program, look at your seat attendances. Who wants to watch a program where kids throw the ball away, can't shoot on the road or at home consistently and most importantly can't win? The NIT game was an embarrassment to watch.

Interesting responses. Good points from Mark and Cathy. However I'm not sure about Jim or Mike.
For those of you wanting to punt Coach Sean I have a question:
Where you an O-State men's basketball fan in the years prior to Coach Eddie Sutton?
Most of us are too young to have experienced Coach Iba's tenure. But all of us remember the days before Eddie - not much success.
I'm tired of hearing how Coach Sean has no personality. SInce when is personality a requirement to coach any sport? And get off Eaton, the kid plays with heart! Career assit leader?
As for those long-term season ticket holders not renewing - good! Maybe seats will open for me to buy, I'd rather watch this version of the Cowboys than the versions available to me while I was in school (mid-80s).
If Coach Sean is let go you'd better get use to those days prior to Eddie. Even if the big bucks are dealt for some up-and-coming coach do you really think that coach is staying or will he move on after a few years? Face it, OSU is NOT a top men's basketball job!
Sean is young, talented, court smart, and he can recruit! Oh, one more thing - he is an OSU boy who loves his job! He isn't going anywhere. He's hear to establish HIS program HIS way. He's hear to win conference championships and make it back to the Final Four. He is as competitive a coach as he was a player!
Why are those complaining acting like OSU should be cutting down nets after every tournament? We were NOT good for years! We just had a coaching change. Wake up!
Bite the bullet now (not a horse)? If Sean is let go we won't own a horse to ride and it will be years before Bill Self grows tired of Kansas and decides to retire at OSU.
So, are you a true O-State fan or did you jump on when Eddie turned it around? By the way, do you think Stillwater was Eddie's choice because it was such a wonderful place to coach? No, he made a mistake or he would have retired at Kentucky. A very fortunate break for Cowboy nation - Eddie was a key player in getting the ball rolling for all things happening today in the athletic department.
There are just too many reasons to keep Coach Sean and not any to let him go after his SECOND year.

For you Sean Sutton fans - enough is enough. For the sports writers who are in love with him - you get your tickets, parking, and food furnished - those of us who have to pay deserve better. When is the last time Galleger/Iba did not sell out season tickets? Well they didn't this and year and the fans are going to be voting with their feet next year. I know of two long term season ticket holders who are not going to buy next year. They are fed up. One has not been to a game in over a month - he couldn't stand to watch it any longer. And finally, Byron Eaton has been a real disappointment. Except for 5 games he has been a "no show" for the last 2 years and to score only 5 points in a post season game - what a waste of real talent. It is time for a change.

THE AD CAN NOT COACH THE TEAM. SEAN HAS DONE NOTHING AND CAN NOT KEEP THE RECRUITS HE GOT. WHY DO YOU THINK JAI LUCAS WOULD NOT COME HERE? OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE HIS FATHER THOUGHT SEAN COULD NOT COACH HIS SON.
IF EDDIE HAD NOT GOTTEN TROUBLE AND SEAN WAS NOT HERE DO YOU THINK OSU WOULD HAVE HIRED SEAN? I THINK NOT!!

We need to give Sean Sutton a chance. He's a new coach and these are his building years. Let me share with you with a few of the more noteable coaches in their first years as a head coach ...

Mike Krzyzewski - Duke
Record his first seasons as a head coach:
17-13 - NIT
10-17 - no bid
11-17 - no bid

John Calipari - Memphis
Record his first seasons as a head coach
10-18 - no bid
17-14 - NIT
20-13 - NIT

Rick Pitino - Louisville
17-9 - no bid
21-9 - no bid
13-14 - no bid

Bill Self - Kansas
6-21 - no bid
10-17 - no bid
18-9 - no bid

Eddie Sutton
15-10 - no bid
14-11 - no bid
15-11 - no bid

These are all amazing coaches which ANY O-State fan would be thrilled to have gracing the sideline of Eddie Sutton Court. Sean could become a great coach that someday would be included in a list of "once upon a time when they started coaching ... " We O-State fans know he does an amazing job scouting and his knowledge of the game is immence. We need to stand behind him while he finds his way ...

Sean is the right man for the job. For two years he's done more with less, and got woefully little support from his AD and the fanbase. The man can coach and will someday be remembered as one of coaching's Great Ones alongside Rupp, Knight, and E.Sutton. I just hope that the ignorance of the masses and the ego of our AD doesn't cause us to lose Sean before he really gets things going.

Sean, is like a zombie on the sideline. His players obviously do not listen to him and have no spark. That is his job, to motivate! During the year the media kept saying what a talented team he had, but he could never bring out the talent. If Eaton is the star of this team, woe be it on OSU. Sean has no personality, that I can see. He is just another coach who got where he is because of his father and the circumstance. Why wait another year and then decide to bring in another coach? Lets bite the bullet (not the horse) NOW!!!

I really would not have very high expectations if Sean stayed another year. The past two seasons the Cowboys have not played with any passion. I've never been in the locker room, but it doesn't look like Sean is a motivator. Their defense is good, but offense is horrible. 80% of the offensive strategy seemed to be dribble/pass around the perimeter, and when there is 8 seconds on the shot clock give the ball to Eaton so he can drive the lane while everyone else watches. I like Sean, but I really don't see much of a future for the Cowboys under him.
