Lloyd Noble troubles

OU’s biggest game of the Jeff Capel era comes at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lloyd Noble Center against Texas A&M, and there can’t be a lot of reason for optimism. And not just because of OU’s two straight 45-point performances. Check out OU’s Lloyd Noble showing this season.

In the Big 12, OU has played six home games. They lost to Texas (by 10) and Kansas State (by two). They beat Baylor by one in overtime on a virtual miracle (a four-point play in the final seconds; followed by two missed Baylor free throws). They OSU by three and Texas Tech by two, and both foes had shots to tie in the final seconds. So OU’s only comfortable victory at home was 76-64 against Iowa State.

Out of conference, OU won in some routs. The Sooners beat Arkansas in a solid win but also lost to Stephen F. Austin. But truth is, OU has not played well at home this season. Saturday would be a good time to start.
