Stoops might blow a gasket

Bob Stoops might just go nuts. His Sooners have committed two personal fouls in a three-play span. One forced OU into a 3rd-and-22 situation; the other gave Mizzou decent field position despite the Tigers being flagged for a block in the back on a punt. Stoops was saying the other day how much he detests personal-foul penalties.

Trent Williams committed the first personal foul for OU, and he needs to settle down. He was whoofing in the face of a Missouri player after Iglesias’ 14-yard reception on the first Sooner play, and that could have been a 15-yard penalty. Then Allen Patrick got a personal foul on the punt. Both players received less than pleasant receptions when they returned to the sidelines.

Berry,

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!

That is the kind of defense I have been waiting for. They came out edgy and ready to hit. There were penalties for sure and I was a little concerned early (nothing a Long Trail Ale couldn’t calm). I said we would wear them down though and the defensive front and the blitz packages were great.

How about the play where Lofton tripped up Chase (who, by the way needs to dial it down a notch or two) and Daniel got in his face? Nothing like adding gasoline to an already burning fire.

We won’t get a look for the title game. I ask though: Who is playing better? Ohio State? They haven’t been playing. I hope the voters look at their ridiculus schedule of Akron, Youngstown State and Helen Keller U and throw the Buckeyes into the Rosebowl with USC (who beat a weak Oklahoma State-like UCLA……actually State is probably better).

and lastly……..Everyone was all fired up about Chase Daniel for the Heisman. I am sure he will bring his act to New York in some way, shape or form. Look at Bradford’s numbers: More touchdowns than the Chaser, less interceptions and who beat Misery twice this year? Bradford and the BIG 12 Champion……OKLAHOMA SOONERS!

Here is hoping the computers and the voters look at the Crimson and Cream for all the marbles.

Way to go Coach Stoops, staff and program. Another great year. We have the best coaches in the country.

Have a great day!

Jeff

ps. I am still saying Miles to Michigan. I think that was all fun and games yesterday to keep his team intact. Look at the way he left State? We will see this week. If this week passes and he doesn’t go…..then I will eat some humble pie. Which will be Pumpkin by the way…with a nice big pile of whipped cream on top. So really….its a win-win situation for me.
