Boone predicts victory
Boone Pickens predicts an Oklahoma State victory. We’ll see if his prediction holds better water than Lee Corso’s. Corso already is wrong. On ESPN’s GameDay, Corso predicted a Kansas victory but said the Jayhawks would get one stop, inferring that OSU would get none and this would be a shootout.
Not so far. Through three possessions, no first downs. Kansas has punted twice, and OSU faked a punt and didn’t make it.
Back to Pickens. I chatted with him Thursday night after the Oklahoma Hall of Fame inductions. Pickens predicted a victory over Kansas, then offered up this scenario: win over Baylor, win over Oklahoma, then another win over KU in the Big 12 title game. Only trouble is, I told him, OSU still wouldn’t make the Big 12 title game without more help. The Cowboys need Texas to lose.
No problem, Pickens said. A&M will take care of Texas on Thanksgiving Friday. The way the Aggies played Saturday — scared Missouri before losing 40-26 — it’s certainly possible.
