Oh, there Lane is

On the third play of the second quarter, Texas A&M handed the ball to Jorvorskie Lane, its 300-pound tailback. Lane ran for eight yards for a first down. It was Lane’s first run of the game. What in the name of firefran.com is going on? A&M coach Dennis Franchione’s use of Lane has been puzzling for three years. Fran should use the same strategy as Eddie Sutton used with Big Country. Sutton would call his troops to the huddle and say, “Give it to the big fella.” A&M should hand the ball to the big fella.
