I really enjoyed the articles about the 1956 Frederick Bomber football team. They brought back strong memories for me as I was a freshman at Hollis High School when the bombers roared into town. I think that final score was 54 to 0. The names Miller, Logan, and Clewis have stayed with me as they were such outstanding athletes. As running backs, Miller and Logan almost made a trackmeet of the game as they ran up and down the field almost at will. Clewis, a tall slender end, even made a touchdown by covering the ball in the endzone after a kick-off. That was the first time I had ever seen a touchdown scored in that manner. It really wasn't much of a contest, but I knew that I had seen one of the best high school football teams of all time and history has proven that to be correct.
