Danis back with Barons
Edmonton placed goaltender Yann Danis on waivers and reassigned him to Oklahoma City. Danis was filling in as the Oilers backup until veteran Nikolai Khaibulin, coming off offseason hip shoulder, was ready.
In a separate transaction goalie Tyler Bunz was reassigned to Stockton in the ECHL.
The Barons still have three goaltenders on the roster after Edmonton claimed Niko Hovinen off waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers and assigned him to Oklahoma City. Olivier Roy has been the Barons’ backup goaltender all season and primary starter when Danis was with Edmonton.
Danis is 13-12-3 with a 2.99 goals against average and 90.5 saves percentage. Last year he was the AHL goaltender of the year posting a 26-14-2 record with a 2.07 GAA.
