Video: Blake Shelton performs his new single “Over” on “The Voice”

Oklahoma country music star Blake Shelton gave the world television premiere performance off his new single, “Over,” off his Grammy-nominated 2011 album, “Red River Blue,” on Monday night’s episode of “The Voice.”

However, the hit NBC reality TV show, on which Shelton serves as a celebrity coach, was preempted here in Oklahoma as meteorologists covered severe storms rolling through the state.

So, I’m posting the video here for enjoyment of BS fans.

In addition, the teams for Team Blake and fellow celebrity coach Christina Aguilera united to sing Lady Gaga’s “The Edge of Glory.” The teams for coaches Adam Levine and CeeLo Green came together to sing “All These Things I’ve Done” by The Killers. To see those performances, click here.

Of course, the main attraction of Monday’s live episode of “The Voice” was the solo performances by the show’s Season 2 “Elite 8″ semifinalists. To see the semifinalists’ solo performance, click here. Voting on your favorite is only open until 9 a.m. Central Time. For more information or to vote, go to www.nbc.com/the-voice.

The live elimination show, which will narrow the field to four finalists, airs at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Video: “The Dark Knight Rises” third trailer

Warner Bros’ third and final theatrical trailer for “The Dark Knight Rises” debuted online today, and it features more Tom Hardy as Bane, more Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, more Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and more gadgetry. Plus, we get quick glimpses of Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman and Marion Cotillard.

In a weird Marvel/DC collision, the trailer for “The Dark Knight Rises” -  Batman is a DC Comics property – is expected to bow in theaters this weekend with Disney-Marvel’s “The Avengers,” which opens at 12:01 a.m. Friday here in the U.S.

“The Dark Knight Rises,” the third and final film in Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed Batman trilogy, opens in theaters July 20.

Box office report for April 30, 2012: “Think Like a Man” stays No. 1 at dometic box office, “Avengers” makes $185 million overseas

The domestic box office stayed relatively quiet over the weekend, but “The Avengers” already are making plenty of noises overseas.

“The Avengers” isn’t playing yet on U.S. movie screens until 12:01 a.m. Friday, but director Joss Whedon’s superhero mashup Marvel Comics movie has made $185.1 million since it began opening in 39 markets last week, reports the Associated Press. That’s nearly $7 million more than the studio had estimated Sunday.

Among the revenue highlights for “The Avengers”: $25.5 million in Great Britain, $19.8 million in Australia, $16.9 million in Mexico and $13.9 million in France.

Blake Shelton to debut new single “Over” on tonight’s “The Voice,” while the semifinalists cover The Killers and Lady Gaga in group performances

Blake Shelton (AP file)

The semifinals kick off on “The Voice” Performance Show from 7 to 9 tonight on NBC as all eight semifinalists will each perform one song in addition to a group performance.

Teams Adam and CeeLo will come together to sing “All These Things I’ve Done” by The Killers, while Teams Blake and Christina unite to sing Lady Gaga’s “The Edge of Glory.”

Plus, “The Voice” presents Oklahoma country music star Blake Shelton, one of the show’s celebrity coaches, in the world television premiere performance off his new single, “Over,” off his Grammy-nominated 2011 album, “Red River Blue.”

The finalists will then be revealed on “The Voice” Elimination Show, airing live from 8 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, as only one artist per team will advance to represent their coach in the finals, narrowing the field down to four. The artist on each team with the highest score based on a combined percentage of viewer votes and coach’s score from the previous night’s Performance Show will move on for a chance to be crowned “The Voice.”

But first, “The Voice” welcomes back its Season 1 finalists to join forces with three of music’s biggest talents: Cyndi Lauper, Kid Cudi and Coach CeeLo Green himself.

Blake’s Season 1 finalist, Dia Frampton, is set to perform her single “Don’t Kick the Chair,” featuring Kid Cudi off her debut album, “Red,” while Vicci Martinez sings “Come Along,” featuring her former coach, CeeLo. Also, Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, Cyndi Lauper, graces “The Voice” stage for the first time to perform her classic hit, “Money Changes Everything,” alongside Coach Christina Aguilera’s Season 1 finalist, Beverly McClellan.

And reigning champ Javier Colon performs his new single, “A Drop in the Ocean,” off his current album, “Come Through for You.”

“The Voice” is a vocal competition show featuring celebrity musician coaches Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Carson Daly hosts and serves as producer, and Christina Milian serves as social media correspondent. The show’s innovative format features three stages of competition: The first begins with the blind audition, then the competition enters into a battle phase, and finally, the live performance shows. In the end, each coach will have one star artist left ready to compete against the other teams’ finalists to be named “The Voice,” with the winner receiving the grand prize of a recording contract.
