Toby Keith talks about Moore tornadoes, including possible benefit concert plans

Oklahoma country music superstar Toby Keith, who was born in Clinton, raised in Moore and lives in Norman, talked to CNN’s Piers Morgan tonight about the deadly tornado that tore through Moore on Monday afternoon.

“The first thing people do is get you transportation, get (you) water, take care of your kids.

Country music superstar Toby Keith, who was born in Clinton, grew up in Moore and makes his home in Norman, issued a statement this statement through his publicist just moments ago, a few hours after deadly and devastating tornadoes ripped through Moore and south Oklahoma City this afternoon:

“This storm has devastated the community that I grew up in.

Oklahoma country music star Toby Keith will appear on a new edition of “Nick News with Linda Ellerbee” airing from 7 to 7:30 tonight on Nickelodeon (Cox HD 771 in Oklahoma City).

According to TobyKeith.com, the Norman resident will spill the beans on his siblings on the episode, “If I Were an Only Child: The Top Ten Annoying Things My Siblings Do.”

The show will feature children and celebrities talking about their own sibling rivalries – and how they give as good as they get.

Toby Keith to receive National Music Publishers’ Association’s Songwriter Icon Award

The National Music Publishers’ Association today announced that Oklahoma country music superstar Toby Keith will receive its 2013 Songwriter Icon Award and U.S. Congressman Ted Deutch will receive the 2013 President’s Award. Both awards will be presented June 12 at at the association’s annual meeting in New York City, according to a news release.

As previously reported, Oklahoma country music superstar Toby Keith wrapped earlier this week his 11th annual United Service Organization tour, thanking troops and their families with his three-country, 10-day trek. The Norman visited the Philippines, Guam and Hawaii to lift the spirits of troops and their loved ones.
