3D’s Need to See: Return of Rooster Teeth Edition

Hey guys, 3D is celebrating the recent return of Rooster Teeth programing with a double DVD recommendation of their related series. For anyone interested in their new series “Revelation,” you really need to see the “Recreation” DVD. They are both part of the continuing Red vs Blue adventures. For those that do not know, Red vs Blue is a machinima series set in the Halo universe that follows two groups of completely incompetent soldiers and their wacky shenanigans. It is very funny, but don’t watch it with the kids because it has some serious language.

The live action “RT Shorts” series has also returned this week, so I’m spotlighting the “Volume 1″ DVD that came out last year. This series follows the Rooster Teeth staff as they go about the business of producing their web series, but let’s just say their office hi-jinks are a little different than those of other companies. The shorts vary in quality, but the DVD is worth getting just for “Saving Face,” “Random, Mandatory,” and “Pongo.”
So, if you’re a Rooster Teeth fan or are just interested in a laugh, you need to see “Red vs Blue: Recreation” and “RT Shorts: Vol. 1.”

3D is here to announce the return of Rooster Teeth programming. They have posted the first episode in their new RT Shorts series “Immersion”, and the Red vs. Blue guys are back for more adventures in their new series “Revelation.” As with all shows from our Texan friends, they are hilarious, but you have to watch out for the language. Enjoy!

3D’s Belated Wednesday Video Spotlight

3D has returned to our regularly scheduled program. For those dear readers who have missed my contributions to BAM’s blog (insert sound of crickets here), I must explain that I fell victim to a few health and power problems after the holidays. Therefore, please excuse the lateness of the following videos.
Posting videos from the hilarious Rooster Teeth site is part of my responsibility for the blog and I seem to have missed these terrific Red vs. Blue holiday videos they did last month. Please enjoy and keep a look out for the return of my regular Saturday contribution 3D’s Need to See later this week.

3D’s Wednesday Video Spotlight: Episode 19

Well, loyal readers, this is it. This is the last episode of “Red vs. Blue: Recreation.” I’m sure there will be a mini-series or something to get us through the long winter months until the next Rooster Teeth series. If so, I will try to keep you posted here.
The DVD of this series is now available to order from Rooster Teeth and the “RT Shorts” that I have been posting here are also getting their own DVD. Rooster Teeth releases are always packed with special features, so I’m sure they will be a good deal for those of you who are interested.
Please enjoy, but watch out for flying obscenities.

3D’s Wednesday Video Spotlight: Chapter 16

Well, this week in Rooster Teeth videos there’s a new chapter in their ongoing series and a new “RT Short.” Chapter 16 of “Red vs. Blue: Recreation” features a very put upon Tucker, which is a special treat for my brother-in-law, who can’t get enough of the sauve blue team member. Please enjoy.

3D is back again to provide you with your weekly dose of Rooster Teeth madness. This week there is a new chapter of “Red vs. Blue: Recreation” and a new “RT Short.” Since last week’s episode featured the return of my favorite character, I was very excited to see this chapter. I hope you will be too.

3D’s Need to See: Red vs. Blue Edition

3D here with your weekly movie recommendation. Loyal readers of the site will know that I have also been posting each episode of Red vs. Blue: Recreation every week. I thought that in honor of the return of my favorite character this week I would make my recommendation the original Red vs. Blue series set.
If you are unfamiliar with RvB, it is a machinima series, which means it is filmed using a video game engine (in this case the HALO games are used), done by a website called Rooster Teeth. The guys at Rooster Teeth started putting up funny videos set in this world several years ago, and they became immensely popular.
They did five seasons worth of the original series “Blood Gulch Chronicles,” which are available together in a box set with lots and lots of extras. Although the episodes were originally only a few minutes long and aired each week, for the DVDs they have been edited together into movie form.
“Red vs. Blue” is based around what my mother calls “guy humor,” which is filled with double entendre’s (and single ones for that matter), bodily function references, and, in this case, a truly epic amount of foul language.
In other words, it is not family entertainment. But for adults, it is one of the most consistently funny things I have ever seen. If you want to give a couple of episodes a try to see if it is your sort of humor, you can see all the previous episodes in the Rooster Teeth archives. Beware though, you may find yourself sucked into watching quite a few episodes, since RvB is pretty addictive.
