The fan-voted 2009 American Music Awards took place Sunday night in Los Angeles, with the late Michael Jackson and country music starlet Taylor Swift emerging as the show’s big winners. The cross-genre show also featured more than a dozen performances, including ones from Carrie Underwood, Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, Rihanna, Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson.

Michael Jackson won a record four posthumous awards at Sunday night’s American Music Awards, while country starlet Taylor Swift won five trophies, including the top award, entertainer of the year.

The 19-year-old country music star was named the year’s favorite artist, giving Jackson his only loss of the night, according to the Associated Press. She also was awarded favorite female pop/rock artist, favorite female country artists, favorite country album…

Country band Rascal Flatts, which includes Joe Don Rooney of Picher, will perform a 30-minute acoustic concert this afternoon in Huntingdon, W.Va., that will be taped for “Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.”

According to CMT.com, the episode of the celebrity chef’s TV show featuring Rascal Flatts is expected to air on ABC in February.

The trio’s free performance will take place at the Keith-Albee Theatre during a food festival in downtown Huntingdon featuring 30 local food vendors.

Taylor Swift

Teen sensation Taylor Swift dominated Wednesday night’s CMA Awards, even as Oklahoma’s usually bright contingent of stars went home winless.

“I’ll never forget this moment because in this moment, everything I ever wanted has just happened to me,” a tearful Swift said as she accepted the top prize, entertainer of the year.

The country-pop singer-songwriter performed the show’s opening number, and she spent much of the night onstage, as the Country Music Association presented her with four trophies, for entertainer, female vocalist, album for “Fearless” and music video for “Love Story.”…

Here is the list of winners of tonight’s 43rd Annual CMA Awards. And if you’re not a Taylor Swift fan, you’re not going to like it, since the 19-year-old contemporary country star won four trophies, including female vocalist and entertainer of the year.

It was a rough night for Oklahoma stars: Even though Carrie Underwood co-hosted the show and several put on stellar performances, the Okies went home winless.
